Feedbacks

Thomas Penton
"Real smooth, i think its a great track to close out the night with. not too crazy, with class and emotion. Nice melodies, but still powerfull enough to move em'. Good job!"

Steve Gerrard
"I'm lovin this!! Right up my street. The original is wicked with a very funky feel and the remix compliments it nicely with a subtler and quite trippy vibe to it. Can't wait to play it out this weekend in NYC..."

Christian Cambas
"Great bassline and a perfect track to set the mood. This will be one of the summer tracks that will be remembered. Works everytime!"

Kosmas Epsilon
"it fuses musical elements with dancefloor beats, trippy atmospherics and the result is awesome! love to begin with this kind of prog"

Josi, K Records

Really liking the original mix here; cool 8/10

Micah, Silver Planet
The original is gorgeous, lovely percussion and super thick bassline. Everything about the original is slick...just love the melody. Kaan's mix is my favorite tho it does not have the same emotive qualities of the original it's super summery and has tons of movement, will work well on the floor...both are very well put together. 8/10

Jason Wohlstadtr, Proton Radio
Awesome, thanks a bunch. Will definitely be playing these on Proton!

Jacob Todd
Original is solid, funky, mid to peak set progressive. Nice melodies and composition. I'll definitely be playing this one. The remix isn't that much different from the original. But is still pretty good. 7/10

Rob Warner, New Zealand Dance Charts
Subsky is on fire in 2005! This is chunky deep prog with dancefloor appeal. Kaan Duzarat does a spacey prog number which will also appeal to lovers of his previous work. 8/10

Helen K, The City Vibe.com
Nice one... Trancey proggy n atmospheric. Crystal clear mountains...

Andy P, Ivibes.nu
This is just what the doctor ordered, fucking amazing. 10/10

Ollie Sterio
Awesome double back of driving prog with floating synths and FXs. The Kaan Duzarat mix has a little more drive than the original but both will work well on the dance floor and I will definitely be charting...Awesome!!!! 8/10

Shiloh
this is a very nice release. love the snappy dancy feeling of the original, but the buzzy ending bit of Kaan's remix really does it for us. will be playing the remix for sure.

Hans Temmerman, Rotationz.BE
The original mix rocks just like all other productions he's ever done! After the magnificient 'ground ep' on Blu Room, Turkish Subsky suprises me again with his unlimited inspiration! Also like The Kaan D. Mix 9/10

This Romanian based label has just two releases under its belt yet has managed to get people talking in ways that are usually reserved for the more household names. For their third offering the pressure has been notched up from where they left off with a track entitled Rainman from Turkish producer Subsky.

The original mix is a bit of a classy cut of progressive that from the start rustles up an immediate warm atmosphere.Mixed in is a blend of chunked-up beats and sliding melodies that begin to move around underneath while a totally groovacious percussive rhythm sets the mood which lasts throughout . As the bassline kicks in synth chords begin to set the pace as other slight melodies appear and work in tandem to create a more lush vibe , breaking down and letting the full force of the melody take over. Keeping with a Turk flavor the remix is placed in the hands of Kaan Duzarat who appeared on Only's first release. He polarizes a take of the original keeping with the warm, body hugging melodies but taking the groove down to a deeper level adding a bouncier , almost live bassline along with rhodes chords and breathy pad sounds . Scattered right the way through are little breaks that either paint an uplifting picture or a contrasting chuggier shade as a rumbling bassline comes to the fore.

As we've heard before Subsky creates a highly polished sound however the remix has an insatiable angle to it that there's no getting away from.

Nicholas Bennison, BigShot Magazine
Pleasing in the usual Subsky way. Excellent melodies and production. Original works best for me. thanks! 8/10

Steve Parry, Juice FM
subsky - quite cool, bit too floaty for me personally, but can see this doing well. kaans mix is quite cool too.

Matthew Hiscock, 365 Mag
Prog that has fun - marks a nice change. A nice summery groove, despite the name. The remix is my preferred track. I dont play that much proggy stuff, but I'll keep it around just in case. 7/10

Lance Cashion, Balance Original
Really nice melodic progressive from Subsky. Its not too melo tho, the track still has a lot of energy to it. Really dig it. Thanks. 9/10 Kaan Mix: This too is very nice...I like the breakdowns in this remix alot. make for a solid release. Hopefully, before summer's end. 9/10

Samer Salhab, Pangea
What a great release for Subsky. The original is quite a fusion of house and prog, a very nice ride as the song rides up and down beautifully unlike many songs out today. Bravo for Subbers. 8/10

Review by Rob Warner

"Rainman" is a solid progressive house number which has all of the right elements to get the dance floor going.

It starts with a solid beat, adds the deep, bubbly bassline and follows it up with smooth, emotional keys giving it that x-factor that is so often missing in this type of track.

If the original isn't your cup of tea then turn it over for the flip. Kaan Duzarat steps in with his trademark sound including ethereal breakdowns and an acid synth added from the main breakdown which will give any dance floor a good kick in the pants.

This is a top notch release from Only Records and Subsky who are on fire in 2005. Highly recommended for fans of the Sander Kleinenberg or Anthony Pappa type sound.

Progressive–Sounds.com, Subsky – Rainman

Hailing from Istanbul, 26 year old Goktug Citci has been involved with music since a very young age. After working in Radio Cool in 1997, Goktug discovered progressive music. By 2001, his alias Subsky was formed, and as they say, the rest is history. Rainman is due for release on Only Records, who host an impressive roster containing artists such as Christian Cambas, Jay Wave, and Jose Zamora.

The Original Mix boasts the refreshing style of mellow progressive which is trademark of Subsky. The bassline goes deep, giving it a progressive feel, whilst introducing an uplifting melody over the top giving the track quite a light feel to it. Those familiar with Subsky's previous works will know this sound well, and while there may not be anything particularly new to this track over his other works, it is sure to be welcomed warmly by many.

Turkish DJ / producer Kaan Duzarat found his direction when he started working for Istanbul's Dinamo electronic music radio station. His remix of Rainman takes the track to a deeper level, giving it a real groove which smoothes over the original in many ways. Many elements of the original still remain in tact, but its the little things which matter, and the little things are what have been improved in this mix. This would be a great track to warm the crowd up, as its sexy vibe is sure to be able to work any crowd.

A fair release for Only Records, and the Kaan Duzarat Mix is worth checking out. However, for those looking for sounds which are distinctively different, then maybe this could be passed up. If the classic Subsky sounds are your thing, then definately give this one a chance.

After a very good first and a pretty good second release it’s time for the third vinyl from the Romanian label. This time it all went into Turkish hands and turned out to be the best Only’s outing to date.

Subsky in an interview for us said, that there were still some of his older tracks going to come out and “Rainman” sounds like one of them. You don’t have to be a big fan to recognize the author of this production after a moment of listening. On one hand we have an energetic and trancey rhythmic section and on the other a dreamy dance with a keyboard at which Subsky is a true Fred Astaire

But also Duzarat did very well going with his remix slightly in the Silicone Soul direction. Thanks to vivid congos and frivolous bass it’s still a full on party track but with a warm, deep house feel.

I don’t suppose I should convince anyone about the greatness of Subsky and it looks like Kaan is trying to equal his friend. With such progress some day he might succeed.

Adi Dumitra (Only Records Label Manager / Owner)

As being the first artist weve started the label with Kaan will always have a place in my heart, but apart from that ( and im sure im going to second more reviewers/dj’s/artists here), he is definitely and amazing talent in the field of electronic music and also a solid Dj .We were lucky enough to bump into each other last year when the label took off…and what a solid start we had!

His track – "Organic Intellectual" got some amazing feedback from all over the world showing everyone that Kaan is and will be definitely a one to watch for.

Apart from his music being played by one of the leading Dj’s in the world nowadays, his new productions are totally following the new trend right now which means only one thing : this guy has what it takes! – the TALENT!
